How to Record a Sound in Audiotools
Audiotools is a free and open-source music production software developed in Germany. It provides users with a wide range of features that allow them to remix tracks and collaborate with others.
AudioTools is an audio processing application that provides a variety of functions, including editing, compression, sample rate conversion, gain functions, fades, and more. It also includes plug-in processing and I/O support for external devices.
The application comes in several editions, with a variety of pricing options. It is designed to be easy to use, yet provide a lot of control over processing.
To record a sound, position the hairline cursor at the start of the portion you want to record. Click SELECT on the Record button, which changes to Play when it begins recording (Figure 11-18). The recording process starts at the start point and records the selected segment of the file.
You can edit the selected segment by dragging its pointer to a different location in the sound file. You can also delete it by clicking SELECT on the Stop button, which changes to Clear when the recording stops.
If you want to save the recorded data in a different format, click SELECT on New to display the Audio Tool: Save Format window (Figure 11-18). You can change the default format by selecting the desired one and then clicking SELECT on the Save As button.
You can also set the sensitivity of the silence detection feature by moving the slider to the left. This increases the number of silent segments that will be detected, and it decreases the number of sound and silence segments that will be ignored.
